Walter Scott, Jr. College of Engineering

Engineering is a competitive major, which means students must meet certain requirements to change their major.

Current CSU students from non-Walter Scott College of Engineering (WSCOE) programs who did not  meet WSCOE controls at the time of admission must meet all of the following requirements to be eligible to change their major:

  • Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 or greater from all courses at CSU and
  • Have completed Calculus 1 (MATH 160 or equivalent) or higher and earned a B- or better in their highest-level math class taken and
  • Have completed the following required classes and earned a C or better:
    • For Computer Engineering: Physics (PH 141 or Equivalent) or Comp. Sci. (CS 163 or 164 or Equivalent)
    • For All Other WSCOE Majors: Physics (PH 141 or Equivalent) or Chemistry (CHEM 111 or Equivalent)

Students who were admitted to CSU as first-time, first-year students, must complete these requirements by the time that they have earned 45 credits at CSU.  Those admitted to CSU as transfer students must complete the above requirements by the time that they have earned 30 credits at CSU.
